Hendrick, Christianity is a historical faith. I would suggest you read a book called Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. It helped answer questions for me about Jesus and who He is….

If I could meet only one American in my lifetime over a cup of coffee and just talk for an hour, it would be Dr. Ankerberg. I have read a good many of his books; his teaching materials and resources, if more widely used by ministries, could keep thousands of young people from losing their faith when they go off to college, not to mention making lions out of sheep by giving everyday Christians the intellectual tools they need to effectively defend their faith.

Dear Dr. Ankerberg,
During the last few days I have been corresponding with Dr. Geisler about the possibility of writing a history of apologetics to include his influence over the second half of the twentieth century.
Dr. Geisler and I have been friends for sixty years, and I helped him launch Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte.
Please pray with me for wisdom as I contemplate this challenge. I want to make a contribution that will best glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

I would greatly appreciate your input. My name is James Morrison and I teach a World Religions class in Red Wing, Minnesota. I have been doing this for seventeen years. I am writing a book about my experiences and the challenges of teaching religion in public schools. The bulk of the book will be categorically divided into chapters. Each chapter will be a collection of letter responses to the following question: “What (if anything) should public schools be teaching children about religion?” I have sent this question to a wide range of people/organizations (lawmakers, educators, humanists, social activists, religious leaders, journalists, celebrities, scientists, authors, college presidents and professors, gay and lesbian leaders, ultra conservatives and “flaming liberals”). My goal is to present/publish a cross-cultural snapshot of our nation’s diverse opinions on this controversial topic, and your contribution would be greatly appreciated. I sincerely hope that you can respond with a few words or paragraphs. Thus far, I have received well over a hundred responses. Listed below are just a few of the prominent people who have submitted replies for publication. As you can see the list reflects great distinction and diversity.
John Hennessy President, Stanford University
Dara Halydier Director, Abiding Truth Ministries
Rev. Dr. Carlton Veazey President and CEO, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice
Leslie Jordon Emmy Award winning actor (Will and Grace)
Rabbi Richard Jacobs President, Union for Reform Judaism

I’m not proficient in finding my way around the web. Prefer addresses of bookstore where I can purchase your written work. I no longer have access to a bookstore where I can browse and buy your printed work. I have recommended your “FACTS” often. Truly enjoy listening to your show. However I am happier to have the written material to all other media, AN ADDRESS, PLEASE, WHERE I CAN PURCHASE “FACTS…” for gifts/handouts.

Dr. Ankerberg:
I’ve watched your programs off and on for years; my husband has it on TV just about every Sunday night!
I was almost “certain” that you’re a Southern Baptist–but you’re not
. That’s okay! You appear to have all the same beliefs, at least, as Southern Baptists do(except maybe regarding predestination).
I remember hearing Dave Hunt on your program a number of years ago and was really impressed with the discussions between the two of you. As a liberal arts major, I heard a lot of liberal worldviews in my courses, by the way. [Actualy, I'm intrigued with most any topic you have on your program!]
I liked “The Passion of the Christ” film and was “moved” by several particular scenes. One of them was when I saw Barabbas’s hideous, ugly face, which really represents all our horrible sins, yet Jesus died in that murderer’s place–and ours! [I became a born-again Christian many years ago, at age 23, after being taken to church from the time I was six weeks old.]
However, I am sometimes bothered by the Catholics’ focus on the “blood and gore” of Christ’s crucifixion. Yes, we know Jesus suffered terribly, and not just on the cross, but also by a brutal beating. Yet it appears to me that the Catholics seem to be “gleeful” about the blood; almost like some sort of “sick delight” in Christ’s suffering and pain. It borders on sadism, in my opinion. That’s why it even seems diabolical in my mind. Even in “The Passion,” it seems like there should have been less “blood & guts” (if that makes sense). [Or do we Christians need a "reminder" of that from time to time and/or if the movie helped some people to believe in and accept God's Son, then that's good.]
Do you ever get the same impression from Catholicism that I do?
In addition, I don’t see a whole lot of emphasis in the Catholic church on Easter and the resurrection of Christ (though I could be wrong about that).
One time I asked a Catholic priest why that church has Christ STILL ON the cross. The man answered that it was to remind us how much Jesus suffered for us. Well, I’ve been inside a couple of Catholic churches which had statues of Jesus, and “blood” was painted on his face, and “dripping” down his legs. Again, those seem/seemed to mock Christ, not praise Him. Not pity for Him, but a type of degradation. [Plus, one of my daughters was born in a Catholic hospital, and each room has a crucifix on the wall and I didn't have peace from it. [In fact, it gave me an "uneasy" or "uncomfortable" feeling. I was actually sort of "repulsed" by it!] My peace comes from a Savior and Lord who died and ROSE FROM THE GRAVE! He said, “It is finished.” He didn’t STAY on the cross; He died, was taken down, buried in a grave, and rose the third day. THAT’s why we Baptists and others (non-Catholics) have an empty cross.
Yes, even Baptist and other Protestant churches will portray the blood of Christ (during Easter pageants, for example), but we know what the “physical” blood did for us on a spiritual basis. At the same time, we ARE “horrifed” by His physical suffering, yet don’t take any kind of “sick pleasure” from it. We as Christians realize we “were bought with a price” and it was via Jesus’s blood sacrifice. Still, I wonder sometimes if the Catholic beliefs are actually evil! [Of course, there are true Christians in every church and denomination, and that includes the Catholic church.]
I don’t know if you’ve taken up the above topic or not on your program…and I bet you don’t want to offend Catholics…but I do wonder if I’m the only one who sees Catholicism in the way that I have described herein. It’s just that they seem to have too much emphasis on the physical/bodily BLOOD and PAIN of Jesus, and in so doing, are they deifying Him or degrading Him?
One more item and then I’ll close: Okay, if I recall “The Passion” correctly, in the movie when Jesus dies on the cross, this “devil-like” creature flying above is moaning, groaning, as if in pain. [Or as if to scream, "Oh, no!"] Based on theology, however, I think if that were supposed to be the Devil, wouldn’t he be HAPPY and GLEEFUL that Jesus was DEAD?! [Wouldn't that be a "VICTORY" for the Devil--that Jesus was killed?] When, actually, it would only be when Jesus AROSE FROM THE GRAVE that the Devil would realize that people had a way to eternal life–through Jesus. [We Christians serve a risen Savior, after all.] And THEN (per portrayal in such a movie), at the resurrection, that’s when the bird-like devil creature would be SO mad and would be moaning and groaning and saying (or thinking), “Oh, no! Jesus is alive! There is hope for mankind now! I am doomed!”
Or…if the sort of bird-like, evil creature in the movie was supposed to represent Satan, maybe he was angry or upset above the cross because he realized that Jesus had just paid the price for mankind’s sins.
That’s probably a good question for Mel Gibson (who’s Catholic, by the way).
Thanks for your time!

We would like to make clear to all for the purpose of enlightening some of the misinterpretations made by many literal gentile scholars in the God master plan of the Holy bible and one of these misinterpretation concerns the comissionship plan of God, not knowing that it is not a universal ministry but was only covenanted to all chosen Israelites (both Jews & Israelites) the authority to minister the WORD or preach the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus Christ) to disperse countrymen, Mt. 1:21 & Mt. 15:24 for the duration of the 2000 years. Acts 10:34-43; these preachers are the “remnant of Israel chosen by Grace” as testified in Rom. 11:1-7 and Rom. 9:3-7. These are the only “Baptized” disciples (Mt. 28:19) by Holy Spirit. And the complete number of these chosen disciples is found in Rev. 7:1-8 & 14:1-5, which was prophesied in Exo. 19:6, as the Kingdom of Priesthood . Now, to update your knowledge regarding the TRUTH of the God universal religion plan of the Holy Bible, we all knew that the first legal covenant religion of God was the Edenic covenant of God to Adam unto his righteous seed. And, the last legal religion of Old Testament was Judaism. Then followed by the N.T., the Messianic kingdom of priesthood, or Days of the Lord Judgment as the only legal religion by Yeshua (Jesus Christ) Holy Spirit, which is also the Promised Covenant of God to Jacob Kingship Salvation (Lk 1:33), which ended last 1993. And after this, comes the 2nd Advent, Night Covenant, the Hour Judgment of God or Eternal Age (Mk. 10:30) and according to Moises was “Hour of Redemption”, wherein the Father (Adam) reign, who have the sole authority to reveal the “ Days and Hour ” (in God count) as judgment covenant Plan of God for one salvation (Mt. 24:36 & Jer. 33:20-22). Thus, the prophesy was fulfilled and we are proclaiming the Eternal Age or Night Covenant or Hour Judgment to all unto the end. And we also proclaim that the fulfilled 2nd Advent of the Son of Man is also the Adam & Enoch prophesied return for the salvation covenant of all literal gentile (?).
However, we are sending this letter in connection with Mt. 16:27-28 to be a fulfilled prophesy in our present time. Thus, we rely this revelation of God’s Plan – The Kingdom in the New Testament to all living members of the messianic Israelites which in Act. 1:6-7 Jesus reminded his disciples that the kingdom is not for them to know ( literal gentiles also ). So, its very clear, there is NO SPIRITUAL RELATION what so ever, the Messianic (Christian) Salvation Plan of God to any gentile Christian religion? Therefore, any gentile believer that does not want to go to hell? Read Rev. 18:4 and research for more truth! Now, to whom do you think, will gonna serve this God messages salvation to the people of the world? When some Chinese, American and etc. rejected and even persecute us! (Star of David is a symbolical prophesy message of King David about Adam as the first created man (Christ) and last created man (Christ) by God).

Dr. Ankerberg,
My name is Gary Pangan and I just finished the book entitled; Whom Jesus “Really” Loved. It is my honor to share with you what our Lord Jesus had revealed to me in the past years.
I received Jesus in 1996 after a very chaotic past of drugs, prison, and satanic worship that engulfed my life. I never thought that the Lord Jesus could ever forgive someone as wicked as I was; until that night, when He stood beside me in my room, while I was in desperate cry for help and forgiveness. While praying, I felt my spirit body lifted up from my natural body; then, I saw my Bible miraculously lit up on a portion in the Book of John while in the dark room. I was amazed and confused at first, until I realize that Jesus was revealing to me, how much He does love me (not only me but everyone) and had completely forgiven me. It was such a beautiful experience!
So today, may I humbly ask a moment of your time from your busy schedule to give this book a chance and read it (If you can kindly give me your address to send it to). This book is bold in its approach and positively controversial in nature; but it is the powerful truth that can breakthrough the imprisoned minds and capture the hearts of people!
Our Lord Jesus gave me a new understanding of the true measure of His Love and Forgiveness that I want to share to others as well. God Bless You.

Was watching you and Jimmy DeYoung the other night. Was pleased to hear Jimmy speak about the next Arab-Israeli war noted in Psalms 83. Since it is so close, will take the apportunity to amend the statement a little. It not only effects Lebanon but also Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt. You don’t need to believe it. Just watch in the next few months. Also, it is a precursor to the war of Gog of the land of Magog, not a part of it.

In reading your thought from today’s Old Testament Passage Proverbs 12:21 “No real harm befalls the godly, ” Then what about the apostle Paul’s praying to the father three times to releave him from the pain that he had to endure, his thorn in the flesh?. This is a problem for a lot of Christians and churches are having to deal with today. Please explain?

There is no “partial rapture” in scripture. Don’t confuse the rapture of the church and the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. They are not the same thing.

Dear Dr. Ankerberg,
My wife and I have often enjoyed your broadcasts.
My youngest son is a recent graduate of a well-known law school. He was brought up as an evangelical Christian but in college began to question his faith. Just recently, we were talking and he expressed great dissatisfaction with the doctrine of predestination, believing that God could choose everyone, but only chooses some, thus many will live for eternity paying for their sins.
My response was to encourage him to go back to more basic questions about the faith such as,”Who is Jesus?”, etc. I also tried to help him see that with our finite minds we can’t expect to understand everything the infinite Mind of God understands, pointing out the concept of antimony.
Predestination was not a big emphasis as he was growing up, so I am not sure how and when it lodged in his mind.
I am aware that the great American theologian, Jonathan Edwards, wrote of the great joy that predestination (or was it election?) gave him. But quite honestly, I don’t quite get it either (being content to find out more in the hereafter).
I looked over your books and pamphlets and didn’t see anything that makes predestination understandable (to a regular, non-theologically-trained) person. What suggestion, if any, might you have?

I have admired the glimpsed of John Ankerberg I’ve had over the years for his commitment to sound Christian and philosophical apologetics for the existence of not just God in general but the God portrayed by the Bible. So, here’s a conundrum that the atheist will find hard to refute: If the deaf, dumb, and blind forces of the universe as believed in by the materialist atheist can cobble together by random chance (kismet) and the fortuitous concourse of colliding atoms an amoeba-like one-celled “critter” from which all other life-forms mysteriously evolved over eons of time, why is it we don’t see chessboards and chess pieces growing on trees and washing up on ocean beaches since these inanimate things ought to be much simpler to “evolve” than the much more highly complex one-celled organisms that Darwinians claim came in to being as the result of “natural” forces working randomly for time-out-of-mind durations? Their answer? They haven’t any! There are more permutations possible in the game of chess than there are subatomic particles in the known universe and yet the microscopic universe of the chessboard with its 32 moving components cannot be solved by all of the supercomputers working in tandem to answer the ultimate question about chess, which is: Does White have a guaranteed win with best of play by both sides? Since there are more chess permutations than particles to etch these answers on, only God could know the answer since He transcends time, space, and all material objects.
